This weekend I got the chance to play Ultra Street Fighter 4 ahead of its upgrade release in just under 2 weeks time. This was a great opportunity to see it first hand, and to talk to other street fighter fans face to face.

Would seem my motivation for taking on the Capcom guys at MCM this weekend has paid off! I'm not 8 for 8 since last night and have passed the 1000BP mark earning Rank C with Juri!
Over the weekend my new PC parts turned up, so Sunday meant completely taking apart my whole computer, cleaning it all up and rebuilding it with the new parts (CPU, Motherboard and RAM). Followed by reinstalling Windows and all that Jazz.
So obviously I was eager to test the new processing power yesterday after work. Add in that while I was at work I found out that Capcom will be at MCM Comicon this weekend with Ultra Street Fighter 4 on hand to play. And last night I couldn't wait to get in and play! I started with a bit of footsies practice, before heading online. And proceeded to go 5 for 5 in my online games (Earning the Threepeat and Fivepeat achievements in the process) I've been a bit slow on updates recently, have had a mix of being busy and changing ISP's at home as our router and old ISP kinda fell over or something.
Admittedly that only put a stop to online play and I should still have sat in the Training Room and worked on combo timings and anti-air timings etc. But I got distracted by playing Windwaker HD on the Wii U.... But we've a new ISP and router now, so can hopefully blag more time on the PS3 getting some training and matches in. Then my new CPU, mobo and RAM are arriving early next week to get my PC upgraded, so that'll be back up to speed then I can practice and play at my computer without hogging the TV xD Still wish I had more of a local scene, might have to see if I can organise a little tournament later this year, once I'm a bit better of course ;op, and see if I can find some local people to play with that way.... |
